Have you ever felt like you have cloud over your head when your about to drive in your driveway and know that, when you open the door you are going to be over whelmed with all the work you need to do?
To be honest with you, I’ve had this happen more times than I can count. I have been struggling to get to a point of living a simple life.
Living a simple life has been a passion of mine for a long time.
I believe it gives us great benefits better health, less stress, more time in our lives to do some fun things, and pursue our passions.
It does take time to make the changes in your life to simplify but, it will be worth it in the end.
I have to admit I’ve been working on simplifying my home for a few months now. I found it is definitely a process.
Since I retired in April 2017, I am getting more done, but I thought I would be further along by now.
Simplifying life means different things to different people.
For me one of the things it means is :
1. Removing and clearing things from your home that are not used anymore, or get moved to another place from time to time just to get them out-of-the-way.
The reason for removing and clearing items is so it takes less time to clean, less frustration/stress and saves time while maintaining your homes.
2.Have cleaning routines:
Establishing a cleaning routine allows you to know exactly what needs to be done so there is no need to stress about what we are going to do that day.
I know that working outside the home it’s much harder to do, because you have much more to cram into your day. But I do believe there are some routines that can be established and but into use.
3.Enlist family members to but their belongings away before bed.
Pick two evenings a week to do the major cleaning bathrooms, vacuum, mop floors and dust.
Don’t cook that night. Have left overs, a crock pot meal or something that does not involve cooking. Give that job to your husband!
Teach the children to make their beds in the morning if their old enough and be responsible for putting their things away in their rooms. This will be a big help and will help keep your cleaning routine simpler.
Once you have these routines down pat you can add others.
I hope that these routines will help with maintaining your home, and give you more time for family, friends, fun and be able to do somethings you love, without the stress of worrying that the house work is not done.
Thanks for Stopping by!
