No matter where you are or who you are talking to money and cost of living, comes up in conversation. As we are living our day-to-day life going to work and coming home, paying the bills, sleeping and going back to work doing the same thing the next day.
We often wonder is this all there is to life, go to work and come home just to do it all again.
Then possibly not having enough money to meet our bills anyway. It’s hard for us to keep up some times with demands of life.
God knows all our needs before we do and he tells us in his word how we should handle them even our money.
First knowing that everything we have our homes, cars, jobs, money, and most importantly our family are all gifts from God.
The bible tells us to Bring the full tithe 10% of our income into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Malachi 3:10
I know that God does not want us to be in unnecessary debt. Unfortunately we don’t always see that having more debt than our budget allows, and buying things that really are not a necessity will only give us more stress.
God knows when we are in debt it is a burden on us and so do we. Debt will cause us a tremendous amount of stress and a host of other issues, depression, headaches and illness and that is only a few. Debt will also steal our joy for life.
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender. Proverbs 22-7
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Romans: 13:18
The love of money can cause us to become a workaholic, an absent parent, and by working all the time we miss enjoying the life that God has given to us. We don’t enjoy our families or any of the gifts that God has given to us. God sent his only son to die that we may enjoy our life and live life to the fullest.
The Bible says Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13-5
The Bible says be more concerned about giving instead of getting, We’re to be encouraged to be good stewards of what God has given to us.
We are to be wise with our money, but not hoard it. Spend with discretion and control. Give joyfully back to the Lord and be sacrificial.
We are to use our money to help others, but with discernment and the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit.
The Bible’s consistent message on managing our money is to use wisdom. We all know it is difficult to manage our money sometimes when everything is so expensive.
Situations happen that cause us to get off track with our finances and many of them are unexpected. Dr. Visits, Children needing money for school/field trips, activity fees, helping an adult child or other family member and there are many, many more.
In closing I hope you received some nuggets that will help you on your journey to manage your finances and living a simple life.
Thanks for Visiting and Have a Great Day!
