Getting out of Debt
This one of the best things we can do for ourselves and our family
When I was in my thirties and forties I was frugal in some ways however, I still used credit cards. Mainly for my children’s needs or needs for my consignment store that I owned.
When I turned fifty it hit me, how are my husband and I going to eliminate the excess debt we accumulated so we could retire.
I new I needed to Come clean with my husband about our credit card debt and finances. i also new that I needed to have my husband help me
When I came clean with my husband about the credit card debt that I had accumulated, he was by no means happy!
We decided to refinance our house to pay the debt. (refinancing is not always a good choice, make sure to not start using credit cards again).
This being the second time I got in to far with credit cards “yikes”! The first time my husband sold his coin collection. After doing this two times, I vowed to never to it never again.
My husband is very patient, he didn’t get upset with me. Now he frequently ask if we have any credit card balances to make sure we are still on the same page.
My lesson learned!
If you want to have financial security you must become debt free. There is no other way!
So if you have to come clean with your spouse about your debt and financial situation, Do it and get it over with. You will feel so much better. Then both of you can talk about your finances and get a plan to get out of debt.
Getting out of debt, trust me, it will be worth it!
